Trips and visits

Emsworth Primary school is able to offer a wide and varied selection of enrichment opportunities, which the children thoroughly enjoy.  Off-site visits linked to specific curriculum areas enhance and support the children’s learning and understanding of the world around them. In addition, we welcome visitors who can enrich the children’s learning with their expertise and perspective. We have welcomed marine biologists, vets, athletes and artists who have worked with our children and inspired them for the future. In recent trips, Year 2 children have visited Chichester planetarium, Year 4 children have explored Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth and Year 6 children have visited Fort Nelson to learn all about the local history and the links to World War 2.

Additionally, in Key Stage 2, there are a number of enrichment activities on offer which are tailored to the older pupils.  Years 3 and 4 are given the opportunity to take part in a residential stay which in the past has been Beaulieu or Minstead in the New Forest.  Year 5 take part in a circus skills workshop culminating in a performance to the rest of the school and families.  In Year 6 pupils have previously had the opportunity to visit Calshot Activities Centre in Southampton and are excited about their upcoming residential to the Little Canada on the Isle of Wight. Families who struggle with the cost of trips and visits may be offered financial assistance by the school
