Relationships and Sex Education
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is a statutory element of the curriculum and forms part of lifelong learning about physical, sexual, moral and emotional development. There are elements of this curriculum which link with PSHE, science and our HeartSmart programme. Our curriculum map will be available here from September 2020.
It is about the understanding of the importance of stable and loving relationships, respect, love and care for family life. At Emsworth Primary, we believe the understanding of such values is integral to supporting and developing positive attitudes towards each other and ensuring positive emotional well-being.
We are currently consulting on and updating our policy in respect to RSE and our curriculum offer. We recognise the role parents and families play within this area and we aim to create a programme that respects parental views and values their input. In September 2020, the changes in this curriculum area will be implemented.
